Information For Participants

Mindfulness is a natural quality and often appears simple, but there are certain circumstances where participants should be under the active care of health professionals, and starting an MBSR program may not be advisable. These situations may include recent experiences of addiction, suicidal thoughts, trauma, psychosis, or being in the midst of major life changes. As a preventative program, it is best for individuals to take the course at a time when they are well-supported and able to fully engage with the mindfulness practices. Suitability will be assessed before course begin with a help of a short intake questionnaire and a 15 minute call or meeting with Nina Kutylowski if required.

Mindfulness is sometimes likened to physical exercise, offering mental training or fitness. Just as with physical exercise, it’s important to practice safely to reduce the risk of harm. Having a qualified guide is crucial in helping navigate any challenges that may arise during the course. In addition to my background and experience as a clinical psychologist, I adhere to the good practice guidelines for mindfulness teachers and am following a certified and accredited training pathway to teach the MBSR curriculum.
